This iridescent diffraction foil in simple terms is ashiny, reflective ribbon that is designed specifically to repel birds. This works as the ribbon flashes greatly in the sunlight producing alerting images to the birds, scaring them away.

This product is made up of an effective wide-width and strong polyester material and is available in 2 lengths: 100' (30 m) or 200' (60 m).

"For us boat owners, this is really good stuff! Knock on wood, but-other than a couple "fly by's-I have not had a bird sit and poop on my boat in the past several months. I place 3 different 3 to 4 foot strips of this tape in 3 different places on the boat. On the bow rail, up top near my radar, and streaming from the upper stern rail. The near constant motion, in conjunction with the shiny holo patterns, does a great job of scaring birds off. The easiest way to secure the tape is to buy a roll of the thin velcro strips (Home Depot has a roll of about 50 of them for about $5.00). Tie one end of the tape to the center of the velcro piece and simply attach to the railing. When I prepare to get underway it takes about 90 seconds to remove all three strips. The only negative to this stuff is that over the course of about 3 weeks or so, it starts getting a bit "transparent" as the holographic print fades. "A flock of uninvited pigeons invaded my neighborhood. Somehow they decided to perch on my roof and left a mess below on my driveway and my car. So after seeking out my best options and not have to resort to violence, I decided to give this tape a try. I Cut lengths of 5 feet long and thread it with fishing lines and clip it to the soffit on a sunny day. As the breeze sway the tape and flip it any which way it throws off a kaleidoscope of dancing lights reflecting off the sun and then something amazing happened. The pigeons circle and circle over my roof but never dare to land again. I am shock at how well this tape works. The only problem with the tape was that it was very thin and very brittle. Constantly ravaging of the wind and rain pounding it into the siding has shredded it in pieces in just a few short days. I made a few more lengths since and reinforced the edge with clear scotch tape and hope that would prevent it from damaging from hitting the siding.
