Some insects need a little more to help lure them to the grid. Fruit flies are one of those, so you will need to lure them to the electrified grid with bait. They are attracted to natural sugars, so we suggest placing a slice of fruit or a drop of apple cider vinegar on the bottom tray to draw them to the grid.
-
Often during transport, a bulb may turn in the socket breaking the connection to the power.
If you pull the screen down on the side opposite the grid and turn the bulb towards you the bulb should work perfectly.
Try switching the bulbs to find out if the problem comes from the bulbs or the Machine

To check the electric grid function, you can do this test:
1) Plugin the device and turn the switch on. This step is to make sure the unit can be charged.
2) Turn the switch off and unplug the unit.
3) Use a screwdriver or a scissor (the handle part cannot be metal) and poke the electric grid.
If the electric grid is working, you will see and hear a spark.
CAUTION: Please note that the grid can hold a charge for up to an hour after shutting the unit off. The shock won't cause any serious injury, but we wouldn't want you to be surprised. It is best to discharge the stored energy by touching an insulated screwdriver to the grid.
-
The reason that the big flies not killed is because of the safety grid protected is prevented it from entering the electric grid (also to protect our children and pets not being shock by accident).
